NY Fried Chicken Open for Business

A shade over two months ago I told you the story of Deep Singh and his proposed new restaurant on a busy route in Benton Charter Township. His plans for a New York Fried Chicken restaurant developed quickly, and yesterday was opening day so the fryers are fired up, the grill is hopping and an amazing array of comfort food is ready for your desk, your kitchen table, your picnic bench or wherever you choose to take your new found joy.

As I reported to you here in mid-June Singh and his brother Laddy Singh want to recreate the astounding success that New York Fried Chicken has achieved in Grand Rapids. They enjoy a virtual cult-like status with customers in Grand Rapids over the special recipe they use in crafting their fried chicken and other dishes. The New York Fried Chicken restaurant on Division Avenue in Grand Rapids has been going strong for more than five years now, and this marks their second venture into the business.

The Singh’s purchased the former Domino’s Pizza building at 610 E. Napier Avenue in Benton Harbor from the Don Meeks family and have been working to renovate the building for the changeover. The new restaurant is sandwiched in between Signature Automotive Group and Art & Image Sign Shop on Napier and is now open for business.

New York Fried Chicken is open 7-days a week from 10am until 4am, with take out, drive-through or delivery, although from 2am until 4am the service will be drive-through only.
