Police Ask Public Help in Solving Break-In at SWM Auto Dealership

Police are asking for the public’s help in resolving a break-in at a Southwestern Michigan auto dealership which took place some time over the past weekend.

Allegan County Sheriff’s Detective Mark Lytle says that sometime between 1pm on Saturday and the opening of business at 7:30am on Monday, a thief or thieves helped themselves to “numerous tools as well as diagnostic equipment” from the Betten Baker-Allegan Car Dealership at 1255 Lincoln Road in Allegan.

Lytle says that Allegan County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the early Monday morning call and were working with staff members from the dealership to determine the extent of the burglary and exactly what tools and diagnostic gear ended up being lifted.

Lytle is asking the public to help identify the burglars and bring them to justice. Anybody with information on the case, or anyone who might have been in the area of the auto dealership during the course of the weekend, especially in the overnight periods, is asked to contact Lytle and the Sheriff’s Department by calling 269-673-0500, Ext. 4286.
