Pscholka To Address Talent Gap in Michigan at Mackinac Policy Conference

Al Pscholka has been engaged in workforce development issues for years, first in his role with the Cornerstone Alliance Partnership for Lifelong Learning, later with Congressman Fred Upton’s office, and on to his role as State Legislator, State Budget Director, and interested citizen. Now, in his role as Vice President of Government Affairs & Public Relations with Team Kinexus, he will be a standout addition to a panel discussion on Mackinac Island on that very topic.

Pscholka will be part of a panel discussion on the future of talent in Michigan on the opening day of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Mackinac Policy Conference.

The annual conference is one of the largest in the country with 1,800 leaders from business, politics, and the nonprofit world in Michigan. The conference will be held at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island from May 29 to June 1.

Pscholka will be part of a panel entitled “Prioritizing Michigan’s Policy Agenda for Cultivating 21st Century Talent.” Topics include talent cultivation in Michigan, where it fits in the public policy agenda in the state, and how Michigan can create a bold vision for education and skills training.

Pscholka knows only too well, “The number one issue we are hearing from employers in Southwest Michigan is how to attract, retain, and build a talent pipeline.” He adds, “Our team at Kinexus has developed some innovative approaches to breaking down barriers to employment, and we are working closely with schools to build a future workforce.” He notes, “Leaders across Michigan are seeing Kinexus as a place that has a unique culture and is creating strategic partnerships that are making a difference.”

Also appearing on the panel will be Ric DeVore, Executive Vice President of PNC Bank; Dan Hurley, CEO of the Michigan Association of State Universities; and Brandy Johnson, Executive Director of the Michigan College Access Network.
