Rediscover Classic Boats in South Haven

The seagoing heritage of the city of South Haven and all of the coastal communities of Michigan's Great Southwest will come to life for visitors far and wide this month when the Michigan Maritime Museum campus in South Haven once again plays host to a class boat show.

It’s a day of nautical fun for small craft enthusiasts and families at the 35th Classic Boat Show & Small Craft Festival Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 10am to 4pm. The show will be held on the Michigan Maritime Museum campus in South Haven, and is sponsored by the Museum’s Traditional Small Craft Association (TSCA) chapter.

This year’s show will feature a variety of small craft: sailboats, motor boats, canoes, kayaks, rowboats and ship models. Children can participate in building toy boats designed by the TSCA at the activity tent all throughout the day. It has become one of the most popular activities of the show every year.

The show is free with admission to the Museum, where admission charges are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and kids are free. Admission includes entrance to the Museum and all exhibits on land and on-water exhibits as well, including the Museum’s newly acquired 1929 Chris Craft Cadet, Pouf and the recently restored fish tug, Evelyn S.

In addition, the Museum's launch, Lindy Lou, and sloop, Friends Good Will, will be available for paid passenger service. The Museum is located at 260 Dyckman Avenue in South Haven. For more information, call 269-637-8078.
