SBN Exec New Aviation Leader

The man responsible for operations and maintenance at South Bend International Airport has earned the admiration of industry colleagues and will serve for the next year as President of the Great Lakes Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives. Tim O'Donnell will hold that role until August of 2017 following his election this month. 

O'Donnell who is Director of Operations & Maintenance at South Bend International was elected by his peers at the organization's annual conference and business meetings conducted in South Bend from August 4th through the 7th. As a result of his election, he will serve as President until August of 2017. He has been actively involved in Great Lakes Chapter dealings for the AAAE for more than a decade.

Mike Daigle is Executive Director at South Bend International. He says, "We are proud to have one of our own leading the Great Lakes Chapter AAAE for the next year." He adds, "Tim strives for operational excellence in his role at SBN and will put those same skills to use in his prestigious role with the Chapter."

The Great Lakes Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives was originally formed in 1968 with the mission of determining, implementing and promoting a Code of Ethics for its members of the airport management profession. The states represented in the Chapter include Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. In 1991 the Canadian Provinces of Ontario and Winnipeg joined the Chapter as well. 

South Bend International Airport's three air carriers provide nonstop flights to ten cities with connections world-wide. The multi-modal terminal at SBN serves more than a million air, rail and bus passengers each year with an annual economic impact on South Bend and the surrounding communities topping $1.7-billion.
