Sex, Drugs & HR’s Role to Highlight Fall HR Summit

We’ve heard for decades about “sex, drugs and rock n’ roll,” but what about “Sex, Drugs and HR’s Role?” That will be the main focus of the Fall HR Summit in mid-September hosted by the Southwest Michigan Chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management.

Michigan Society of Human Resource Management Director of Diversity Kimara Mayberry will headline the event along with Kevin McCarthy, the Labor Relations Instructor at Western Michigan University’s Haworth College of Business.

The Fall HR Summit for local Human Resources directors and personnel is slated to take place at the Round Barn Public House at 9151 1st Street in downtown Baroda on Wednesday, September 18th from noon until 4pm following by a networking hour from 4 until 5pm. Cost for chapter members is $25, and will run $35 for non-members of the association.

McCarthy will address employment law with a focus on how sex and drugs in the workplace affect the HR Professional’s Role. Mayberry’s comments will focus on why diversity, equity, and inclusion matter, arguing that it’s not just an “HR issue” with four key arguments that lead to effective and sustainable change in your organization. She will also talk about the ABCs of LGBTQIA and Why Gender Pronouns Matter.

The Fall HR Summit for the group is sponsored by the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber of Commerce and the South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce.

Those planning to attend are encouraged to click the link below to RSVP for the event on the “Meeting Sign Up” tab, and asked to do so prior to Tuesday, September 17th at noon. The online RSVP is the only way to reserve your space, however they will accept cash or check at the door for those who have registered, while those electing to pay by credit card can do so exclusively on the website, not at the door.
