The City of St. Joseph is preparing to clean out its attic, basement and garage by way of a major public auction to free up some much needed storage space and returning the proceeds to the city treasury. The potential for you to score a bonus deal along the way is certainly within reason. Especially if you happen to be in the market for anything from a bicycle to a front-end loader.

St. Joseph City Manager John Hodgson says, "We have many items that can be made available to the public," and he adds, "There will be items ranging from front-end loaders, trucks and cars, to copiers, over 100 bicycles and even some left over public art."

The big public sale is slated for 10am Saturday morning on October 29th at the city's Public Works facilities located at the base of the Broad Street Hill at 1160 Broad Street in St. Joe. The inventory includes abandoned and or recovered stolen property as well as surplus items from virtually every city department.

Jerry Glassman, owner of Big Bear Auctions, and his crew will be on hand to lead the auction on that Saturday morning. Big Bear is headquartered in Eau Claire but also features offices in Kalamazoo and Indiana. Glassman brings more than 25 years of auctioneering experience to the event, having worked with several auction services before forming Big Bear Auctions. Any questions regarding the auction can be directed to Glassman's team by contacting them through their website, which is linked below for you, or you can call them at 269-461-6686.
