When they reconvene next month to do their thing once again, a hearty band of avid bowling fans will mark the 20th consecutive year that they have teamed up for the great cause of raising money for the Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen, and you can be a part of it.
This year, The Soup Kitchen of Benton Harbor’s annual ‘Soup Bowl’ fundraiser at Kelly’s Bowl will mark its 20th Anniversary and organizers hope everyone will join the celebration. The general public is invited to join in the celebration of bowling, Silver Beach Pizza, great door prizes, and 50/50 drawings on Sunday March 10th. Doors will open at 12 noon with bowling beginning at 1pm. All proceeds benefit the Soup Kitchen and their mission to provide a nutritious daily meal to the hungry of our area at no cost.
This year they are also giving bowlers an extra incentive to participate by adding prizes for the Best Team Theme, Best Team Spirit, and for the Top Three Scorers. Low score will also be deleted on five person teams. What better way to include a non-bowling friend and still have a chance to win?
If you would like to enter a team (or teams), the deadline for registration is March 8th, 2019. The cost of registration is $35/person for a 4-5 person team which includes 3 games, shoes, food, and a door prize ticket. All proceeds from the event will go to support the Soup Kitchen of Benton Harbor. Since 1980, The Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen, an independent non-profit corporation, has served a large, healthy noon-time meal every day of the year. Over 48,000 meals were served last year.
The Soup Kitchen also provides a safe, sheltered, gathering place during the hours of its service, while also helping guests meet other vital needs through coordinating with area social agencies.
