South Haven Hires New City Clerk Effective Immediately

Another position at South Haven City Hall is officially filled following the acceptance by Nathan Slauer of the city’s offer of the position of City Clerk. His position has already officially begun, effective Monday, January 4th.

Slauer previously served as an intern in the City Manager’s office at the City of Grand Haven where he managed communications and special projects for various departments, as well as assisted with elections and records management. His other work experience includes serving as a Volunteer Coordinator and Resource Development Coordinator for AmeriCorps, Campaign Manager for the Tanya Cabala for State House Campaign, and District Organizer for the Michigan House of Representatives.

In addition to his work experience, Slauer has served as the Education Programming Board Co-Chair for the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Grand Rapids, Board Member for the Heritage Hill Neighborhood Association, and as an Events and Policy Committee Member for the West Michigan Environmental Action Council.

Slauer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, History, and Social Studies from Calvin College and is currently pursuing his Master of Public Administration from Grand Valley State University.
