Spectrum Health CEO, Planning For the Worst, Issues Appeal

Spectrum Health President & CEO Tina Freese Decker has posted an online video again pleading with Michigan’s citizens to help flatten the curve by staying home during the Governor’s shelter-in-place order to stay home and stay safe.

Offering up some striking graphics and sobering statistics during this “unprecedented time”, Decker uses the short Vimeo video release to say, “Our job is to plan for the worst,” and proceeds to show a dramatic series of graphics displaying why the coronavirus COVID-19 is so different from the ordinary flu. She foresees the demand for hospital beds surging well beyond what we have available across the region.

She makes an urgent plea for people to stay home, and shows timelines on the flattening of the curve.
