The St. Joseph Lincoln Senior Service Center is teaming up with Papa Vino’s restaurant in St. Joseph for a fundraiser. The center’s Cindi McLaughlin tells WSJM News it’s part of an ongoing effort for a new feature at the center.

“We are in the process of developing a woodshop in the front of our building,” McLaughlin said. “We’re very excited about it. We’re anticipating that it will open, and it will be a way for a lot of people who enjoy that craft to do it because they cannot afford those types of machines in their personal home.”

McLaughlin says the center has raised about $21,000 in donations for the woodshop and more fundraisers are planned. The fundraiser with Papa Vino’s will be May 23 through May 26. Anyone who places an order with Papa Vino’s using a St. Joseph Lincoln Senior Service Center voucher will have a portion of their purchase donated to the senior center. You can get the vouchers at the senior center, on Facebook, or on the center’s website.
