Another Berrien County manufacturer is expanding capacity and adding jobs again thanks to a $1.4-million investment. This time it’s Dura Mold of Stevensville.

Dura Mold is a plastic injection mold and die cast manufacturer with more than 30 years of experience in delivering quality products to a wide range of clientele at their facilities on the corner of Linco and Jericho Roads in Lake Charter Township.

The company is making a $1.4-million investment in a new 8,000 square foot addition that will result in the creation of seven new jobs for the community.

The Business Development team at Cornerstone Alliance, Berrien County’s lead economic development agency, led efforts for Dura Mold’s expansion, and shepherded a tax abatement plan through the paperwork and filings with the state and local government. In fact, Cathy Tilley, who serves as Cornerstone Alliance Business Development Manager, presented the tax abatement on Dura Mold’s behalf to the Lake Charter Township Board of Trustees in their noon meeting today.

Cornerstone’s Chief Operating Office and Vice President of Business Development, Greg Vaughn, says, “Dura Mold is another example of a thriving business expanding in Berrien County.” Vaughn adds, “When existing industry commits to expand and grow in Michigan’s Great Southwest, the competitive landscape grows stronger, and there are more opportunities for Berrien County residents. We applaud Lake Charter Township for their work in making Dura Mold’s expansion a reality.”

Lake Charter Township Supervisor, John Gast says, “Lake Charter Township fully supports Dura Mold’s expansion. Dura Mold is a long-standing company, and their success is a win for all of us.”

The expansion project, which is currently underway, is expected to be completed by late March 2018.
