In a day and age where it can be hard to sort out who really stands for what, with rampant incivility stirring up the mud, it’s refreshing to see a major company step out and declare their feelings and then do something about it. Especially if you are on the receiving end of the equation as is the case for the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan this week.
Turns out that the Tractor Supply Co. store in Stevensville is donating 77 bags of pet food to feed dogs and cats in need of adoption.
Their not just doing it to be nice or neighborly. As Tim Spurr, the Manager of Stevensville’s Tractor Supply Company store puts it, “More often than not, animal shelters and rescues depend greatly on food donations to support the pets they take in that await adoption.” He pointedly adds, “Our goal at Tractor Supply is to do our part in helping adoption efforts in our community because we know that pets are more than just dogs and cats, they are family.” Yep. They truly get it, and because of that, so does the Humane Society.
