In a day and age when the real estate industry is an increasingly complex world through which to navigate, the Southwestern Michigan Association of Realtors Professional Development Committee is debuting a new way to acknowledge and celebrate members who continue their education over and above required courses in order to better serve homeowners and homebuyers in the community of Michigan’s Great Southwest. The new award is named the “ACE Award”, standing for Achievement in Continuing Education.
There were eighteen Realtors who invested extra time and expense to further their real estate education and thereby received the ACE Award for 2020. The group includes:

- George Lucas

- Sheila Scott
- Tammy Anders
- Tina Holloway
In addition to the ACE Award, 25 of the association’s Realtor members received an NAR designation, and 128 received an NAR certification. Designations are specialized credentials for Realtors and offer extensive benefits that are continually improved upon and expanded. Certifications are also specialized credentials for Realtors.
The first qualification step to achieve the ACE Award is qualifying for the ACE Certification. In 2020, 128 Realtors reached that milestone.
Alan Jeffries, Association Executive of the Southwestern Michigan Association of Realtors, Inc., says, “Association members can apply for the 2021 ACE Award starting in January. Many people don’t realize that continuing education is required to be a national and local association member. We felt it was time to recognize those who are building and expanding their professional skills.”
