SWM Inland Lakes Are Focus of HGTV Lakefront Bargain Hunt This Weekend

The natural beauty of Michigan’s Great Southwest is garnering attention again this weekend on a national scale, and not just from the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship. HGTV recently dispatched film crews to the inland lakes of Southwest Michigan for an episode of their popular series “Lakefront Bargain Hunt.”

It looks like the Sister Lakes region was a major focus of the episode according to a post on Dockside Dan’s Facebook page. That popular bar & grill is at the epicenter of the Sister Lakes region situated on CR-690 where Round Lake, Big Crooked Lake and Little Crooked Lake all nearly intersect with one another.

HGTV’s Lakefront Bargain Hunt series appears to have come to the area about a month ago for Episode 5 in Season 7. The episode is called “Michigan Lake Escape,” and the HGTV website gives this scenario for the show which is airing at 8pm this Sunday night, May 20th and will repeat the following morning at 3am on Monday the 21st:

Ryan and Lori live in Chicago with their two children, and they love getting out of the city and heading to southwest Michigan to enjoy its many lakes. Ryan and Lori both grew up near the water, and they want their kids to have that same experience of making memories and having fun. With all the great activities in the area, they think this location will serve as the perfect family retreat, and they’re on the hunt for the ideal lakefront home.

According to a Facebook post from the Southwestern Michigan Association of Realtors in St. Joe, Realtor Chelley Bussey from the Bibbings Group at Keller Williams was the agent who helped the Chicago family. Here’s what they posted on Facebook recently:

HGTV Lakefront Bargain Hunt episode Michigan Lake Escape May 20 at 8pm & May 21 at 3am will showcase buying a home in southwest Michigan. Chelley Bussey, Keller Willams, is the Realtor helping a Chicago couple and their children find the perfect family retreat. http://ow.ly/ZFze30jKRfd #swmirealtors #buyahouse

As is typically the case in advance-produced shows such as this, Realtor Bussey is bound by a confidentiality agreement precluding her from media interviews or even descriptions of the filming process and other things that could have a tendency to defeat the surprise factor of the show’s results. The same goes for family members of the people involved in the search for a waterfront home.

So…if we want to see the results, we’ll just have to tune in like everyone else to HGTV on Sunday night or very early Monday morning to determine where the new neighbors will be vacationing in Michigan’s Great Southwest.

Bussey’s LinkedIn profile says she has been with Keller Williams for more than four years now, and earlier in her career worked for five years with the Southwest Michigan Planning Commission as an Associate Planner. She was also an American Airlines Flight Attendant in New York & Chicago for four years in the mid to late 90s after getting a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.

Stay tuned to find out how she fared for her Windy City clients.
