Team Kinexus Reprises Interactive Leadership Training Next Month

In their never-ending pursuit of a strong and healthy workforce in Michigan’s Great Southwest, Team Kinexus is headed back to the training room in the New Year to help emerging leaders develop the skills necessary to rise to the top of their game as supervisors or supervisors-to-be.

Kinexus recognizes that individual contributors usually get promoted because they are amazing employees. But the skills and mindset required to be a manager are vastly different than the skills needed as an individual contributor. To help shape that difference, Kinexus will conduct a top notch training session in mid January with registration now underway.

You can join the team at Kinexus for this interactive, four-hour workshop held on Thursday, January 17th from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Kinexus Training Center in Benton Harbor, located at 499 West Main Street. Registration that morning begins at 7:30 am. The event is $150 per guest and spaces are limited.

The workshop will explore a variety of topics such as the unique differences between the individual contributor and supervisor/manager roles, the challenges that are faced by those new to their roles and finally the strategies for success. Supervisors – both existing and new to their role – as well as individuals on a supervisor career path are encouraged to attend.

Kinexus develops training content based on feedback from members of The LINK, a Business Resource Network (BRN). The LINK is a private-public partnership of area businesses representing more than 1,800 employees. The LINK is collectively working towards improving employee retention and engagement through support services such as, transportation, child care, health and financial literacy programs.

The previous training provided supervisors a toolkit encompassing adaptive behaviors, resilience and leadership within a work setting. The event saw 49 attendees from 12 different companies and received positive feedback from both attendees and their managers.

Dan Peat, who serves as Senior Director of New Business Development at Kinexus says, “Our primary goal with this training is to help put new supervisors and high potential candidates in the best position to add value back to their organizations. We look forward to taking local employer feedback and delivering additional trainings in the future.”
