The Ultimate Greenbush Tap Takeover

In what might be considered to be the ultimate tap takeover…the crew at the red hot Greenbush Brewing Company in Sawyer continues to expand exponentially in order to handle their incredible popularity on Michigan's Great Southwest Craft Brew Trail. The Greenbush crew has purchased their next door neighbor at Fitzgerald's of Sawyer in order to bring on "the next iteration of classic Greenbush food, coupled with equally-Greenbush new foods."

Dubbing it Greenbush 3.0, the Diner Version, owner Scott Sullivan tells his Facebook fans, "There is, indeed, something happening," in downtown Sawyer alongside the brew pub. He says, "Greenbush has (drumroll please…)bought Fitzgerald's!" He adds,, "I know, I know, we have another property?!? Well, what happened was this: we realized that we had originally thought that we opened a Taproom that would work for the long haul, but then pretty much immediately found that we lacked space. So we expanded. Not enough space. So we expanded again. Still not enough space. So we opened an Annex, figuring that would take care of the space issue, right? Nope. So, armed with a lot of customers and still not anywhere near enough space, we figured 'Why not give people a new venue to drink up some Greenbush beer but with a completely new theme?' Cue Greenbush 3.0, diner version."

Sullivan says that in the newly acquired Fitzgerald's space, they will switch gears (or, as he says, "add a gear or three as it were.") The new space will take the best of the famous Greenbush brunch menu, with all of the usual breakfast classics added in. With a 7am start time, it will be designed to satisfy everyone's early morning cravings and then some.

It's more than just that, though according to Scott's story. "Not only will you be able to get said breakfast all day, you'll have the best and brightest of our lunch sandwiches replete with our house-cured meats that you know and love, available throughout the lunch hours. On top of that, we'll be offering a wide variety of blue-plate specials for dinner. You know the drill: bacon-wrapped meatloaf, Yankee pot roast, chicken paprikash and then some."

The dynamic Greenbush captain says they'll "keep turning up the volume on scratch-made, home-style cooked delicacies at the same reasonable prices and relaxed vibe that we've become known for over the past five years."

Being a brew pub, Sullivan promises you'll be privy to not only the beers that you know and love, but also access some things that have never seen the light of day, like a Pilsner…and they'll add wine and cider to all locations.

He jokingly concludes his post with: "Whatdowegotta do, add clowns???"

Meanwhile, the crew at Fitgerald's turned out the lights for the last time this past weekend after nearly eight years of serving the Harbor Country crowd. They posted a thank you message to all loyal patrons for their support over the years and offered best wishes to Scott, Justin and all the Greenbush crew for their continued success.

Stay tuned for the turned up version of Greenbush Brewing in Sawyer coming very soon to downtown Sawyer.
