Thieves Steal Booze & Electronics From the D.A.N.K. Hall in Sodus

A German-American club rich in tradition for more than 53-years in Sodus Township has fallen victim to a thief or thieves who apparently helped themselves to a boatload of booze and electronics in a break-in that occurred sometime likely overnight in the cover of darkness.

Club members showed up this morning to prep The D.A.N.K. Hall in the 2600 block of Pipestone Road in Sodus Township for the days events only to find a substantial amount of alcohol and electronics missing from the club.

Berrien County Road Patrol officers were dispatched to the club at 2651 Pipestone to process the crime scene in search of clues as to who might have ripped the private club off. They are trying to pinpoint the time, but so far have only determined that the break in took place after 4pm on Thursday and before 9:38 this morning.

Berrien County Sheriff’s Detective Lt. Rick Biggart is asking anyone with information on the crime to call the Berrien County Detective Bureau at 269-983-7141, ext 7224 to share what you know, or you can reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-342-STOP.

On 4-21-17 at 0938 hrs. Berrien County Road Patrol  was dispatched to Breaking and Entering, that occurred at the The Dank, located at 2651 Pipestone Rd in Sodus Twp.

Evidence Technicians from the county also helped in processing the scene.

The D.A.N.K. (Chapter 13) is a German American club, run by members with events that are open to the public. They also rent out their facilities for weddings, parties and other events and can seat up to 500 people. With a full-service bar in the house, it is not inconceivable that thousands of dollars in alcohol was taken during the heist overnight.
