Cass County Shelter lobby hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“We have partnered with Bissell Pet Foundation in the past and have had many successful adoptions,” said Cass County Animal Control Director Ron Butts. “It is important to consider adopting from your local animal shelter as the first option to help give that unwanted pet a second chance at life in a forever home.”

Cass County is also is hosting Christmas with the Animals from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the animal shelter. Guests will have the opportunity to visit with animals, enjoy light snacks and refreshments, and drop off donations to help the shelter continue to take care of the animals in the over-capacity shelter.

At Al-Van Humane Society, the Rescued Treasures Christmas Market also begins Dec. 1 at 11 a.m. and runs through Dec. 16. All proceeds from the market go to the care of the Al-Van animals.
