UFCU Creates New Role for Wier

When the company that you work for values your services to the extent that they craft an entirely new position for you, that's a pretty good thing, typically. With that backdrop, United Federal Credit Union is showing seven year executive Brett Wier some considerable love through creation of the post of Vice President of Lending.

In his new role, Wier takes on responsibility for all initiatives related to indirect, mortgage and business sales through United Federal's six-state footprint. He assumes the new post after serving as market vice president responsible for retail sales and membership growth in southern Berrien County, Indiana, and Ohio for the past four years, dating back to 2012.

Brett joined the United Federal Credit Union team in 2009 as manager of the Stevensville branch and has taken on increasingly larger roles and responsibilities ever since. Prior to his arrival on the scene with UFCU, Wier was a branch manager at Wells Fargo Financial; director of fundraising for the ACT Network, Bingham Farms, Michigan; assistant golf professional at Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Indiana; and assistant golf professional at Cantigny Golf Club in Wheaton, Illinois.

Brett holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing & Professional Golf Management from Ferris State University. He sits on the board of directors of the Fun Financial Literacy Institute, and serves as its secretary/treasurer.

He and his wife Kristen live in St. Joseph with their two daughters.
