There are some fresh new faces in the executive wing at United Federal Credit Union, as the institution has hired and/or promoted three new players for key roles in the organization. They include two new Vice Presidents and a Compensation & Benefits Manager added to the ranks in recent days.

Yvonne Dean has been appointed to the position of Vice President of United Investment Planning through broker dealer CFS at United Federal in St. Joseph. In her new role, Dean will be accountable for the growth and profitability of the UFCU investment portfolio. She will act as the credit union's subject matter authority in retirement, investment, college & estate planning, insurance products & services, and will be responsible for UIP program regulatory compliance.

Dean was previously a Senior Portfolio Consultant Team Manager at Schwab Private Client in Indianapolis, where she led a team of Certified Financial Planner professionals, Portfolio Consultants and support staff, managing assets on behalf of 1,750 clients. Her 20 years of prior financial services industry experience include leadership positions with PNC Bank and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. 

Dean holds a BA degree from Siena Heights University in Adrian,  and a Master's in Organizational Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University in Indianapolis. She is a Certified Financial Planner, a Certified Wealth Strategist, and holds multiple licenses in her trade.

Jeff Blake has been promoted to the position of Vice President of Human Resources at United Federal, and in his new role joins the senior leadership team for the organization, providing operational and strategic leadership in the areas of compensation and benefits, recruiting, employee relations, training, payroll operations, and performance management.

Blake was previously Director of Compensation & Benefits, where he oversaw national compensation and benefits programs and payroll operations. His prior experience includes HR management positions with Lifestyle Family Fitness Corporation in St. Petersburg, Florida, Wright-Patt Credit Union in Dayton, Ohio, and other organizations in southwestern Ohio.

A native of Dayton, Blake holds a BS degree in HR Management from Wright State University in Dayton, and is a Human Resource Certification Institute Senior Professional in HR, a World at Work-Certified Compensation Professional, and a member of the Society for HR Management and the SW Michigan Society for HR Management.

Replacing Blake as Compensation & Benefits Manager is Valari Regan. She steps up from her previous role as Benefits Specialist and Payroll Supervisor with the credit union, where she administered all credit union benefit plans, developed and provided enhanced value of benefits through employee education, and supervised the payroll function. Her prior experience includes Total Rewards Manager and HR Director duties with Crowe Horwath LLP in South Bend and Edgewater Bank in St. Joseph, respectively. 

A native of Buchanan, Regan earned a BA degree in Classical Studies from Indiana University in Bloomington, and holds the Senior Professional in HR certification from the HR Certification Institute and is a Society for HR Management Senior Certified Professional.
