UFCU to Break Ground on Two New Branches in South Bend Metro

United Federal Credit Union’s foray into Northwest Indiana continues as the institution prepares to double its presence in the region in the near future. The St. Joseph-based credit union announced plans this morning to break ground on two new branches — Toscana Park in Granger and on Bremen Highway in Mishawaka. Those projects mark the continuation of an expansion that began with the opening of its first two branches in the market back in August. Even more branches are expected to open in the coming years, as well.

The Toscana Park branch will be located at the northeast corner of Gumwood Road and Toscana Boulevard. The Bremen Highway location will be at the corner of Bremen Highway and Meijer Drive.

United Federal President & CEO Terry O’Rourke says, “These new locations are not just an opportunity for us to better serve this community, they also deliver on United’s promise to continue to grow here.” He adds, “Our commitment to Mishawaka and the greater Michiana area is one we all take pride in. We’re already serving Members at our Edison Lakes and Ireland Road branches, and we are eager to make a difference in even more people’s lives with the addition of these locations.”

Meanwhile, South Bend Regional Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Jeff Rea says, “The entire team at United does excellent work in this community and has already delivered on its outstanding reputation.” Rea adds, “It is our pleasure to continue to work with United, and we look forward to what the future has to offer.”

Once open, the new branches will offer a full complement of services including loans, mortgages, checking accounts, debit and credit cards, investment planning and business lending.

United Federal Credit Union has served its members since 1949 by helping them to “build a sound financial future.” UFCU consists of more than 168,000 member/owners worldwide and manages assets in excess of $2.6 billion. While the corporate offices and main branch are in St. Joseph, the credit union has additional branches in Arkansas, Indiana, elsewhere in Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, and Ohio.
