The mobile farmer’s market known throughout the region as simply the Veggie Van will make a scheduled stop at the Niles-Buchanan YMCA next Tuesday, June 15th at mid day.
Organizers of the Veggie Van tell us that the mobile farmer’s market which features locally grown, top-quality fruits and vegetables, will offer free healthy foods and nutrition information from 11 am to 1 pm next Tuesday, June 15th at the YMCA located at 905 North Front Street in Niles. The event will be held drive-through style and participants are asked to remain in their car to ensure proper social distancing. A total of 100 bags will be available on a first come, first serve basis at Tuesday’s stop.
The goal of the program is to ensure that fruits and vegetables are available to people who otherwise have limited access to fresh produce. The Veggie Van is made possible through the generosity of Spectrum Health and the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids in partnership with Spectrum Health Lakeland and the YMCA of Greater Michiana.
