The South Bend Record Show, the largest one-day sale of recorded music in Michiana, returns 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 8, at the Ramada by Wyndham, 52890 IN 933 N.

Nearly 40 dealers from New Jersey, Virginia, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana will fill 92 tables with tens of thousands of music items. The core of the record show, held six times a year, remains pre-loved LPs with select vendors also carrying new vinyl releases, 45s, CDs, cassettes, music videos, posters, memorabilia, and vintage stereo gear. The emphasis is on rock, pop, metal, and punk from the 1960s-today, but various musical genres, including jazz, country, and movie soundtracks, are also represented.

“We have had a great turnout at our first three shows this year and are expecting another vinyl hungry crowd this Sunday,” said Jeremy Bonfiglio, who organizes the event. “Many of our regular vendors are coming back with newly stocked crates, and we have several record sellers who are coming to the show for the first time. It just continues to grow.”

Those who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 no longer are required to wear a mask inside the Ramada. Masks, however, are strongly encouraged for those who are not vaccinated, including children. With COVID-19 numbers increasing in both Indiana and around the country, organizers encourage guests to follow CDC guidelines and continue to use their best judgment to keep everyone safe.

“We just want people to have a great time in an environment that is as safe as it is fun so we can continue to come together over our shared love of music,” Bonfiglio said.

Admission is free at 11 a.m. Those interested in shopping as vendors set up can pay an early-bird admission of $5 beginning at 9 a.m. Door prizes are awarded at noon, 1:30, and 3 p.m., and food and beverages, including beer, are available for purchase from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. While some individuals accept PayPal and credit card payments, cash is accepted and preferred by all vendors.
