The Berrien County Road Department is advising drivers a bridge in Buchanan Township will close next week. It says the Walton Road Bridge over the St Joseph River will close starting Monday and remain closed through the end of August while the bridge undergoes a rehabilitation project. The road department says the activities will provide continued life and use of the Walton Road Bridge. Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes or use the official detour route during the construction. The detour is Walton Road to US-31 to Niles-Buchanan Road.
