Water Leak Repair Will Force Temporary 4-Block Shutdown of Main Street St. Joe

The St. Joseph Department of Public Works has issued a heads up for those who typically travel southbound on Main Street in the downtown sector — also known as the I-94 Business Loop. Starting Monday night, June 17th, the southbound lanes of Main Street will be barricaded beginning at 9pm for a four-block section of the road to allow for repairs on a water leak there. The work is targeted for completion by mid-morning on Tuesday, June 18th.

Here’s what the Department of Public Works says on their Facebook page, which also shows an annotated aerial photo of the detour as planned:

On Monday, June 17, 2019 beginning at approximately 9:00 pm, the City of St. Joseph Department of Public Works will detour south bound Main Street traffic in order to repair a water leak. The detour will move south bound Main Street traffic west onto Broad Street, south on Lake Blvd., then east on Park Street back to Main. It is expected that Main Street will be reopened to south bound traffic by mid-morning on Tuesday, June 18, 2019.
