Whirlpool Corporation will host more than 40 of Benton Harbor High School’s ‘Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates’ (JMG) youth for a hands-on innovation competition as part of the Whirlpool Corporation Mentorship Program.
The collaboration takes place next Tuesday morning, December 10 at the Whirlpool North American Headquarters Campus at Riverview and Main Street, Benton Harbor.
Whirlpool employee mentors will collaborate with mentees to help design, manufacture and market a new product to consumers. Students will learn about how to work effectively with other teams, communication skills, cost management, and how to apply consumer insights/needs to improve their product.
This event marks the third of seven scheduled in-person mentorship program events throughout the year.
Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates, the premier program of Youth Solutions, is a comprehensive program for youth in and out of schools, providing them with the skills and knowledge needed to make educated decisions about their futures, all while helping them overcome individual barriers.
