That huge moon in the pre-dawn sky this morning was looking increasingly like a great harvest moon, and soon the aromas wafting from the vineyards will be unmistakable as the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail gets ready for the harvest season on what appears to have been a solid year for winemakers and wine grape growers. Add it all up and it means that we can't be too far away from the harvest festival season as well, and leading the way is the team at Lemon Creek winery.
Lemon Creek Winery will present their 20th Annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, September 10th.
It's an annual event celebrating the fruits of the year’s labor and the beginnings of autumn with a day of live music, a farmer’s market, and, naturally, award winning wines.
The Whistle Pigs, performing classic rock, jazz, and rhythm and blues, will be playing from 12 noon to 3pm. They are a 7-piece dance band that is hard to fit into a single category. Then, between 3pm and 6pm, Rachel and the Blue Rays will put a cap on the day with a pure blues performance.
Farmer’s market will feature arts and craft vendors plus the “Luxe” Wagon, a traveling boutique with clothing and jewelry, along with a variety of other vendors. Hayrides are free and available all day long.
The Outdoor Kitchen’s “Chuck Wagon” will be on site with a variety of foods for purchase including tacos, stir fry, grilled favorites and more, plus, ZENO’S Italian Ice will also be available for purchase.
Admission fee is $10.00 per person for those 21 and older. Under 21 guests will be admitted free of charge when accompanied by family. Admission includes free parking, a souvenir wine glass and a ticket for 3 free tastings of your choice from a wine list of over 25 award winning wines.
Personal lawn seating is encouraged, however coolers are not permitted. Additionally, only Lemon Creek wines are allowed on site.
