Wine Inspired Art Goes Floral

The recent phenomenon of wine inspired art picks up a new twist next month thanks to the innovation of a young entrepreneur who recently opened up her own floral business in Buchanan. She's advancing the concept of her own business acumen paired with wine tasting for her own version of Wine & Design.

I told you this spring about Anna Gordon's new Flowers by Anna shop on the periphery of Brookwood Golf Club in Buchanan, and we've all heard about various Wine & Canvas nights where various hosts welcome acrylic painting parties paired with wine tastings, and the occasional variation where the artists paint a wine glass or create jewelry while sipping wines. Now, Anna is molding her version on Thursday, August 11th at 7pm with her Wine & Design event.

She tells her Facebook fans, "You won't want to miss out on this fun evening of enjoying appetizers and local wine, while learning how to make your own fruit inspired summer arrangement to take home." Anna tells me that the arrangements she has planned for floral fans will utilize fruit in the form of lemons, limes and oranges, and fresh local farm flowers grown on her family farm at Froelich Farms in Berrien Center.

Guests of the event must purchase their tickets in the store or over the phone by August 4th, and no walk-ins can be accepted on the night of the event due to limited space in the house.

Guests will be able to choose their own color scheme, flowers and fruit, while they enjoy the refreshments. Cost of the event is $45 per person and that includes all of your supplies, fruit, flowers, appetizers, a glass of wine, and 15-percent off your total purchase in the Flowers by Anna gift shop that evening.

The new shop, which opened for business in April, is located at 4796 Niles Buchanan Road in Buchanan overlooking Brookwood Golf Club fairways. You can reach the shop by phone at 269-409-6090. Space is limited, so the event will be capped at 20 participants.
