Wolverine Intros Lightest Weight Safety-Toe Work Shoe Ever

The people who have been bringing comfortable and durable work boots to tradesmen and women engaged in manufacturing, construction and other rugged trade lines in Michigan’s Great Southwest and beyond dating back all the way to 1883, have rolled out amazing new technology that brings to the market the lightest safety-toe work shoe in its history this spring — and it looks more like something you’d run a marathon in rather than operate tool and die machines or concrete mixers in.

Wolverine, anchored in the West Michigan community of Rockford, just outside of Grand Rapids, which has been making industrial grade footwear for the men and women of the workforce for nearly 135 years, has introduced the Wolverine Jetstream, and it has people talking. Weighing in at 10.7 ounces for the men’s style and 10.5 ounces for the women’s style, the athletic Jetstream work shoe features a lightweight Wolverine CarbonMAX safety toe, a breathable upper and slip resistant outsole for the ultimate combination of comfort and protection.

Yahn Lebo is Product Line Director for Wolverine. He says, “The Jetstream’s Wolverine CarbonMAX nanotechnology safety toe is the result of years of scientific research and is so comfortable you’ll forget you’re wearing a safety toe.” Lebo adds, “With the combination of the CarbonMAX safety toe and lightweight yet durable materials, we’re able to set a new standard by offering our customers an extremely lightweight and comfortable work shoe along with the toe protection they require.”

The Jetstream includes many innovations that make it the lightest safety-toe shoe on the market. Wolverine CarbonMAX toe caps are lighter to reduce strain on legs and feet, made with thinner walls to provide more interior room for toes and a better fit, and have a strong structure that meets protective footwear industry standards. In addition to Wolverine CarbonMAX, the Jetstream features an athletic upper pattern made with breathable mesh and a slip resistant rubber lug outsole. Wolverine also incorporated a cushioning memory foam footbed, flexible stroble construction and a moisture wicking mesh lining to ensure feet stay dry.

The Wolverine Jetstream is now available online at wolverine.com in both men’s and women’s sizes, and has drawn considerable interest from members of the manufacturing workforce since it was rolled out last month. It costs $89 and is offered in a variety of colors including basic black and gradient and neon colors.
