YoBubbs Frozen Yogurt Expands Into Gourmet Popcorn

One of your favorite places to get frozen yogurt in the summer time will now be open extended weekends throughout the school year as well, as they add in gourmet popcorn to their popular store in downtown St. Joseph.

When Ben and Amy Iliff took over the shop at YoBubbs Frozen Yogurt in the city’s central business district in the spring of 2018, the excitement level was high. Teachers by trade they knew that young people wanted a place for fun as well as an opportunity to gain life experiences by working in the shop.

Now, having added gourmet popcorn to their menu, the shop will remain open extended weekends with hours on Fridays from 5pm until 9:30pm, Saturdays from noon until 9:30pm and Sundays from noon until 8pm.

Ben says they have installed all the necessary equipment right in the front window of their shop at 319 State Street downtown, including the popper, the cooker for caramel and candied corns, and a tumbler to mix up cheese corn and other savory flavors ready to be introduced.

YoBubbs will be popping fresh popcorn every day that they are open for business throughout the year.

Ben says, “We offer Caramel and Cheddar Cheese each day, which of course can be mixed just like in Chicago to create our Big City Mix, along with another savory flavor that rotates in and out of the system.” He notes, “We also have an assortment of candied corn that comes in a wide range of fruit flavors and colors.”

For the entire month of October they are offering a Buy One Get One deal for popcorn. Buy any size bag of popcorn and get one of equal or lesser value for free.

In the very near future, YoBubbs Popcorn will add in specialized fundraising opportunities for school groups and other qualified organizations, so stay tuned for more on those options from downtown.

Yo Bubbs, located at 319 State Street in downtown St. Joseph, next to White Pine Winery, was first established in May of 2013, as they mark their sixth season in operation. Ben and Amy are both seasoned Watervliet public schools teachers, and Ben also serves as a local football coach.
