Niles Scream Park Hits 1.8M Milestone

Most people walk away from the Niles Scream Park quaking in their boots, but Cindy Bowers of Elkhart, Indiana recently departed the premises beaming from ear to ear with a glorious "Ghost Pack" of goodies in tow for turning out to be the 1.8-millionth visitor to the interior attractions at the notorious park.

Sunday, October 16th was the lucky day for Cindy and her friends who were both Michigan residents from Three Rivers. Cindy had attended the nationally renowned Scream Park several times over the years with her own kids, but she insisted on bringing along Brad Russell and Anna Zultanski from Three Rivers telling them "it's awesome!" She had no idea how awesome the night would be when she arrived to the news that 1,799,999 visitors ahead of her paved the way for her special moment.

The classic Niles Scream Park has been providing bone-chilling entertainment here in Michigan's Great Southwest for more than 40 years now. Hitting the 1,800,000 mark was equally exciting for the park itself as Manager Pete Karlowicz said, "That's a lot of screams!"

Next Monday, on Halloween night, the Niles Scream Park will host a special event as Samantha McClanahan and James Bradbury will be getting married on the Park's midway. That ceremony will get underway at 8pm and those who are patrons in the park are welcome to be witnesses to the event and cheer them on as they tie the knot right on the lot.

The two are a very romantic couple, with James proposing to Samantha on her favorite holiday — July 4th — and they chose to get married on James' favorite holiday of Halloween. Plus, Samantha figures it will be an easy way for him to always remember their anniversary for years to come.

The Niles Scream Park will be open this weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as usual (7 to 11pm on Friday and Saturday, and 7 to 10pm on Sunday, but the Park will also be open for an extra day on Monday, October 31st — Halloween itself. Park hours on Monday will be from 7 to 10pm so there will be plenty of time for all the spooky fun you can handle.

The Niles Scream Park includes five attractions — three interior haunted houses, the outdoor Field of Screams and a Haunted Hayride — plus a midway with games and food concessions. The project has been compared to the United Way in that it collects money and then donates it to many charities. Volunteers donate their time for more than 65 local and national charities and in 2015 alone the Park donated more than $106,000.
