Power Loss Shutters Gast Mfg

Employees of Gast Manufacturing along M-139 in Benton Charter Township will get a little longer Easter break than had been scheduled. A power outage impacting the manufacturing plant just off the corner of Nickerson & M-139 has forced the company to dispatch word to employees that the plant will remain closed until further notice on Monday, March 28, 2016.

Company officials posted to the Closings & Cancelations portion of the Moody on the Market website the following message late in the afternoon on Easter Sunday:

Due to a power outage, Gast Mfg. will be closed on 3/28/16 until an issue has been resolved. All Gast employees, please dial the "Employee Call-In Line" at 269-934-1200 for further details on Monday start time.

No further explanation behind the power loss was indicated. The company had already given employees a holiday on Good Friday, so the long weekend will get a little longer thanks to the power outage.
