The impact and value of the Pure Michigan campaign is far-reaching. Millions of dollars in tourism experiences have been documented, and traced to the award winning TV and radio campaigns extolling the virtues of these incredible peninsulas that we call home. Taking a page from that playbook, the team at Cornerstone Alliance has crafted a short video showcasing the positive impact of economic development on Michigan’s Great Southwest.

As the lead economic development agency for Berrien County, Cornerstone has a vested interest in assuring that prospective companies recognize the importance of existing businesses, partners of Cornerstone and other like-mined organizations working every day to make Berrien County a great place to live, work and play.

The short video released by Cornerstone Alliance is akin to the piece assembled for the Pure Michigan campaign by the Southwestern Michigan Tourist Council sharing the beauty, familiar faces and places in Michigan’s Great Southwest in a bid to attract new business and industry to our shores.

The short video can be seen by clicking the link below, as it illustrates the benefits of Berrien County’s growing economy.

Rob Cleveland, Cornerstone Alliance President, says, “One of the main purposes of Cornerstone Alliance is to serve as the primary agent for change that keeps our communities competitive and relevant. All of our residents, businesses, schools and churches benefit when a company invests and grows in Berrien County.” He adds, “The work done by Cornerstone Alliance offers new opportunities, builds a more sustainable economy and collaborates with municipalities to create places where people want to live, raise a family and pursue a career.”

The newly created, 90-second video is one of many Cornerstone Alliance uses in its efforts to build consensus, propel a vision and spotlight buildings and land suitable for future development. Significant activities that Cornerstone Alliance has completed, as well as its most recent projects, are also featured in the video.

John Janick, who serves as Chairman of the Board at Cornerstone Alliance, says, “Berrien County is a place with a skilled workforce, where people want to live and work.” He notes, “We have new companies locating in our area, existing businesses choosing to grow, entrepreneurs starting new businesses, and that is happening due to positive economic development activity.”

Recognizing that the work never really stops and can’t be done alone, Janick points out that, “We have great leadership among our municipalities and partner organizations that take steps to constantly improve our community. This video will provide clarity to those looking for a greater understanding of the positive impact of economic development in Berrien County.”

Cornerstone Alliance is a non-profit, investor-governed economic development organization primarily focused on increasing employment opportunities, private sector capital investments and the local tax base in Michigan’s Great Southwest; with specialized business services offered in economically distressed areas.
