Popular Mexican Restaurant on Fire In Downtown Coloma

Fire has attacked a popular Mexican restaurant in downtown Coloma this evening. Firefighters have been on the scene for some time now with aerial ladder trucks and fire rigs blocking most of the main thoroughfare in the city as they battle the blaze at El Asadero Mexican restaurant.

The restaurant, located at 168 North Paw Paw Avenue in the central business district, features Latin American and Mexican cuisine and had to be evacuated when the fire was first reported.

Extent of damage is unknown at this time as firefighters from several departments work together to knock it down and protect neighboring businesses from collateral damage as a result of the blaze.

Eyewitnesses on the scene are saying there has been a tremendous amount of smoke and that it appears that the fire broke out somewhere at the rear of the building and could possibly have originated in an apartment located there or the restaurant itself.
