The opioid crisis hit with a vengeance last month at a local supermarket pharmacy and the result is the subject of the Michiana Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week, in hopes that you can help track down the thieves who hit the store in the middle of the night.

Four thieves, clearly on a determined mission, used the cover of early morning darkness to steal a large quantity of prescription drug medication from the pharmacy department at Roger’s Foodland on Hollywood Road in Royalton Township.

At approximately 1:00am on the morning of Thursday, January 11th, 2018, the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to Roger’s Foodland at 4039 Hollywood Road regarding a breaking & entering incident.

Security cameras and surveillance video show that they knew exactly what they were after, inasmuch as moments after the four people pried open the front door, “they proceeded directly to the pharmacy department,” where they stole a significant amount of prescription medication, before escaping back into the night.
