Moody On The Market 40 Under 40 for 2023

The Moody on the Market 40 Under 40 list for 2023 is now published. Common among this year’s roster is a strong passion for community involvement and making a difference for others.

The 40 Under 40 program is a recognition of working professionals nominated for their work and making a positive impact in the community in which they live. Whether they work in the private or public sector, or for-profit or non-profit, people are often nominated for doing great things to grow their career while also devoting a significant amount of time and energy to an activity that benefits their community.

Kady Williams is a former 40 Under 40 winner and lead judge for the 2023 selection. Said the panel reviewed every application and found that while the nominations were all great, what stood out was the level of community involvement.

“People are doing their day-to-day work in the professional world and reapplying it within their personal life and within their own communities. Whether it was nurses, people in banks, restaurants, athletics, and other fields, it was so great to read about how younger people within our community are still wanting to give back, be part of our community, get the youth within our communities involved, and volunteer their time,” said Williams.

Williams said one surprising element present this year, unlike prior recognitions, was the number of health care workers nominated for the award.

“I saw a lot of nurses, which I thought was really interesting because nurses are the unsung heroes of a medical organization. We saw a lot of people that are working full-time as a nurse, and applying what they do in their day to day, and then giving back to their community in some way within the medical field. I thought that was just outstanding because it’s one area that people don’t have a lot of knowledge about, because you either go to school for (nursing) or you don’t. It was really outstanding to see how many different applications came in from the medical field,” said Williams.

Asked for advice on how someone might make the 40 Under 40 list in future years, Williams said it’s about demonstrating your commitment to a specific community.

“If you want to volunteer within your community, find an area that you are passionate about, whether it’s working with children or giving (professional) advice to people. Find that avenue for yourself.”

The 2023 40 Under 40 class will celebrate their recognition later this month at the Inn at Harbor Shores.
