All In Love Continues Show of Love for Homeless Animals

A close knit group of high school friends who launched a hometown band 44 years ago will reunite this weekend for an eighth time in the last 13 years to benefit the homeless animals of Michigan’s Great Southwest. They hope that you’ll come along for the ride and help establish a new record take for the animals when they play at Czar’s 505 in downtown  St. Joseph.

The band All In Love will reunite for encore performances on Friday, July 7th and Saturday, the 8th. The band will perform at Czar’s with the doors opening at 7:30pm and music starting at 8:30pm. The cover charge is $15.00. Thanks to their amazing generosity, All In Love is donating all proceeds to Animal Aid of Southwestern Michigan, the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan and Save A Stray in the St. Joseph/Benton Harbor area, who are very grateful for the band’s unwavering philanthropy as well as the attendees’generosity.

Since August 2004, they have raised over $18,000 for local animal rescue organizations. 2013 marked the 40th anniversary of the band’s formation. Three band members have been close friends since 3rd Grade and all but two graduated from St. Joseph High School.

Original group members Terry Brady (bass/vocals), Greg Horn (guitar/vocals), Fred Li (sax), Jeff Petrosky (sax) and Scott Schalon (drums/vocals), grew up in St. Joseph performing together in an assortment of bands throughout their high school years. Jim Robb (keyboards) is married to a SJHS ’74 graduate.

Joining the group will be local musicians Tommy Gillespie (guitar), Chuck Hartzell (percussion), Tim King (saxophone), Steve Bizoe (trumpet), Scott Taylor (Trombone), and Kay Stickney-Dine (vocals).

The band was established in Ann Arbor in 1973, playing its original compositions and covers by Tower of Power, Chicago, Average White Band, The Doobie Brothers, Stevie Wonder, and many others. Through the years, All In Love performed in countless nightclubs throughout Michigan and was featured at high school and college proms. In its heyday, they would draw more than 1,000 people to the Back Alley nightclub in Bridgman. Although disbanding after a few years, and with members currently living in Minneapolis, Nashville, San Diego, Woodlands, Texas, Honolulu and Detroit, they remain in touch and continue performing in their locales.

Animal Aid was formed 38 years ago by a small group of volunteers who grew tired of hearing how “someone should do something” about injured and neglected animals in their area, so they banded together to be that “someone,” and Animal Aid was born.

The Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan exists to provide shelter and care to sick, homeless, abused and unwanted animals. The goal is to provide good homes for each of these precious animals. They are raising funds for new shelter to be built on M-139 in St. Joseph.

Save A Stray is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and re-homing of homeless cats and dogs. They formed in 2008 and were noted early for their high adoption rates of pets living in foster homes. All organizations are non-profit so if you cannot attend the concerts, please visit websites to donate.

Czar’s 505 is located at 505 Pleasant Street in downtown St. Joseph.
