When Nick Bertuca told the world he was wrapping up the season last fall at his popular Dickerville Bar & Grill in the Paw Paw Lake neighborhood, he thanked his patrons for a great season and not only said, “We’ll see you in May 2017,” he promised “Big plans for 2017 — bringing night life back to Southwest Michigan.” In fact, he foretold of something really big, billboarding this message: “Coming May 2017 — Southwest Michigan’s Largest Dance Club, The Green Room.” Only…it never happened.
Something fell apart over the winter season and Dickerville never re-opened for the current season. In fact, at the end of April, just days before his projected planned return, Bertuca posted this message on his club’s Facebook page:
First off, thank you for all your business over the last two seasons. I bought Dickerville with the purpose of renovating and saving a landmark in the community. My goal all along was to flip this property when the economy turned around. Well that time has come and I’m too busy with other business ventures to run this anymore. The good news is I am going to sell as a turnkey operation so if you loved our food and atmosphere you get it all. I wish the next person best of luck, and in the coming days it will be listed with a broker to begin the sale process. Thank You, Nick Bertuca.
I reached out to Nick at that time regarding his sale plans, but he said he wasn’t ready to talk about the future inasmuch as he hadn’t lined up a broker at that time.
Now, apparently, he has arranged for the sale and it has gone on the open market with Maureen Daniel in the Kalamazoo office of Collander Commercial Real Estate brokers based in Grand Rapids.
The new listing, which entered the live system earlier today, describes Dickerville as “A turnkey restaurant in an historic building,” adding the following details:
Fully remodeled and renovated restaurant for sale at busy corner! All new windows, metal roof, siding, LED lighting and HVAC units. Restaurant owner’s dream kitchen with plenty of prep and storage areas. Hoods, walk-in coolers, dishwasher. New owner could literally walk in and open tomorrow!
Class C liquor license included. 3 bars – 2 inside, and 1 outside servicing large outdoor fenced patio area. 16 tap Glycol cooled, Nitrogen / co2 Micro Matic Draft System. PA system, sound system, security system, flat screen TV’s, and all kitchen equipment.
The 6,600 square foot, two level, restaurant and bar sits on just shy of an acre of land at 4896 Paw Paw Avenue in Coloma, and carries a price tag just short of half-a-million dollars at $480,000.

I haven’t heard back from Mr. Bertuca regarding his future plans or what project comes next, so stay tuned.
