Jon Wallace’s star on the mortgage industry walk of fame continues to advance as he steps into a key role with CMG Financial, a privately-held, well-capitalized mortgage banking firm headquartered in San Ramon, California. In their bid to deepen their presence in the Midwest, CMG Financial has made Wallace their Area Sales Manager, and made him their coverage leader throughout Michigan and Indiana.
Wallace, a well-known professional in the mortgage and finance trades in Michigan’s Great Southwest, has held leadership positions in the mortgage industry for more than 20 years and will now oversee CMG’s growth initiatives in the Great Lake and Hoosier states.
Jon started his mortgage career by owning and operating his own mortgage company, Carter-Wallace Mortgage, for ten years after leaving D&N Bank. He went on to work as a Mortgage Loan Originator at Fifth Third Mortgage and Horizon Bank, and most recently was a Producing Branch Manager at Union Home Mortgage Corporation in south St. Joseph. He has also worked as a marketing and business consultant, has a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership and is completing a PhD in Business Administration, Industrial and Organized Psychology.
Jon is involved in numerous community and volunteer organizations throughout the region, currently serving as a Board Member at Midwest Appraisal Management…on the Michigan Board of Realtors…District Chair for the Wabano region of Boy Scouts of America…Treasurer of the St. Joseph Music Boosters…Vice President of the Real Help Foundation…and on the community impact committee for United Way of Southwest Michigan.
As Area Sales Manager at CMG Financial, Jon will expand CMG’s Midwestern coverage and manage the Michigan and Indiana regions. He has previously been the Board Chair for the United Way of Southwest Michigan and Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce, and served on the boards of Cornerstone Alliance and the Blossomtime Festival. He also hosts a weekly radio talk show about buying, building, listing and financing real estate on News Talk 94.9 WSJM called “Real Talk About Real Estate.”
Upon accepting his new leadership role with CMG, Wallace says, “I’m humbled to be a part of bringing national mortgage industry leader CMG Financial into Michigan and Indiana.” He adds, “The additional products available to home buyers, like HomeFundMe, and existing homeowners, will benefit many families in the coming months and years.”
Jon is joined immediately by Lorrie Brink who also left Union Home Mortgage. Lorrie has extensive sales management and leadership experience after twenty-two years at LECO with previous mortgage experience at NBD Mortgage Company and financial planning experience at American Express Financial Advisors Inc. Lorrie tells us, “I’m very excited to be joining Jon in growing CMG Financial across the Midwest.”
