11th Annual Pink Heals Firetruck Tour of America Arrives in SJ on Monday

You can always count on a bright pink firetruck to turn heads and drive awareness and the team at Lakeland Health hopes you’ll be among those who will turn out and bring your friends to a couple of stops next week on the 11th Annual Pink Heals Tour across America. The tour started back on August 8th, and it hits town in St. Joseph Monday afternoon, August 27th with a couple of stops locally that day.

The first stop is slated for the Marie Yeager Cancer Center at 3900 Hollywood Road in St. Joseph, when one of the iconic pink firetrucks hits the parking lot from 1pm to 2:45 that afternoon.

The second stop will take place at the Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph at 1234 Napier Avenue in the parking lot there from 3:15pm to 4:30 that afternoon.

The firetruck assigned to the local stops is one or more than 200 such vehicles nationwide operated by the 66 chapters worldwide of the Pink Heals Tour across America team.

The goal of the program and the purpose of the visits Monday is to raise awareness and community support for local oncology services and provide encouragement to those battling all types of cancer. Both cancer patients and survivors alike are invited to sign the pink firetruck which will carry their names forever.

Firefighters from Bridgman and Royalton Township will be in attendance at both events along with Lakeland Health team members committed to the cause.
