Disability Network Southwest Michigan is hosting a free live, interactive web training titled “Job Accommodations for All” presented by the Job Accommodation Network.
The training will be held on Friday, August 9, from 1–3 p.m. at Disability Network’s office at 2900 Lakeview Avenue in St. Joseph. Trainers from JAN will be presenting information for employees and employers on job accommodations for hidden disabilities. Question and answer sessions will be available during the webcast.
According to Disability Network, hidden disabilities are common and may require an accommodation to perform the essential functions of a person’s job. This training will address accommodations for hidden disabilities from the perspective of both the employee and the employer.
JAN is the leading source of free, expert and confidential guidance on workplace accommodations and disability employment issues. JAN helps people with disabilities enhance their ability to be employed, and shows employers how to capitalize on the value and talent that people with disabilities add to the workplace. JAN accomplishes this by working toward practical solutions that benefit both employer and employee.
The web training is free, but pre-registration is encouraged. You can register by clicking here or by contacting Miranda Grunwell at (269) 345-1516 x 120.
Disability Network says those who attend should not wear perfume, cologne or other scented products to the event, as it is a fragrance free environment.
