Fans of tournament level flag football can grab a front row seat to an elite new event coming this weekend to the turf alongside the Renaissance Athletic Club in Benton Harbor.
It’s an Elite Flag Football 5v5 Tournament in Southwest Michigan as the Modern Day Knights host a Renaissance Battle at the RAC.
This Saturday, October 26th, five of the best 4th through 6th grade flag football teams in Southwest Michigan will compete in the inaugural Renaissance Battle Flag Football Tournament. The 5v5 tournament will be hosted by the Modern Day Knights Football Academy on the turf field of the RAC on Graham Avenue in Benton Harbor.
Starting at 9:00 am, teams will compete in pool play, followed by a single elimination, seeded tournament in an effort to become the first Renaissance Battle tournament champion. Food trucks will be on site from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and music will be pumping all day. You are invited to bring your lawn chair and see premier youth football in action right here at home.
This event is hosted by the Modern Day Knights Football Academy, which was founded in 2017 by Jon Hall and Brandon Newberry with the purpose of developing the technical and mental aspects of football skilled positions in a flag football environment, ultimately preparing the youth for tackle football in middle and high school. Modern Day Knights believe in value-based coaching and focus on core values of teamwork, hard work, attitude, discipline and fundamentals.
The Modern Day Knights Football program includes three elite travel teams who compete in National Flag Football hosted tournaments in the 10U, 9U and 7U age divisions. The 10U Modern Day Knights team is in their third year together and are currently ranked 10th nationally; playing in tournaments throughout the state of Michigan, and in Ohio and Florida.
