If the workload in your home office during the pandemic has fried your old computer, or if your binge-watching on Netflix has turned the colors on your flat screen TV to mush, you’ve got an excellent change to recycle your unwanted electronics next week thanks to a partnership between the Berrien County Parks Department and Green Earth Electronics Recycling of St. Joseph.
Jill Adams, Environmental Property Manager for the Berrien County Parks Department, tells us that the partnership is bringing extended recycling hours on Wednesday and Thursday, July 15th and 16th at 4200 Niles Road in St. Joseph. For this special event only, you can get your out of date and out of service electronics safely recycled until 6pm on those dates.
The “Extended Hours” Electronics Recycling Collection Event will take place at the home offices of Green Earth Electronics Recycling. The business is ordinarily open Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 3 pm, however on July 15th and 16th the service will be available until 6 pm each of those days.
Items accepted are electronics only. There is a fee of $10 per computer monitor and $20 per television. Other accepted electronics and household appliances are free to drop off.
Green Earth typically accepts any items with a cord or that run on a battery. You can find more information at the Berrien County Recycling Service web page through this link:

You can also contact the Berrien County Parks Department by phone at 269-983-7111 x8234.
Jill Adams reminds everyone, “Because of COVID, the Spring Community Recycling Events were canceled. The Extended Hours event at Green Earth Electronics Recycling is just one additional way we can bring this service to residents during this challenging time and encourage people to safely and properly get rid of unwanted electronics”
