WNIT-34 To Be Part of National Day of Racial Healing on Tuesday

WNIT-34, PBS in Michiana is once again participating in the National Day of Racial Healing this Tuesday.  And they are inviting viewers to be an active part of it:

We invite you to join us on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, as we observe the 6th annual National Day of Racial Healing. The day is an opportunity to bring all people together in their common humanity and inspire collective action to create a more just and equitable world. Last year, thousands of people participated by viewing the virtual event and through more than 100 local events held across the country — building upon the insights and solutions uncovered over the past five years of gathering in this space we have created together.

As we move forward in our communities and as a nation on our collective journey to achieve racial equity, we must find time to speak and hear the truth about past wrongs and present consequences created by individual and systemic racism. The National Day of Racial Healing provides a time and space for people to acknowledge and see the humanity in others, to facilitate trust, and to build authentic relationships that begin to bridge divides. Now, more than ever, we need to actively come together and heal.

As part of the National Day of Racial Healing, PBS Michiana – WNIT is hosting a virtual event that begins at 3 p.m. EST / noon PST. More information and resources are on our website at National Day of Healing Resources.
