‘Thrill On The Hill’ Returns to Buchanan

The wait is over: Buchanan’s biggest party of the year is BACK! August 4th – 6th, 2022 brings the return of Thrill On The Hill to the heart of Buchanan, a three day fun fest that perfectly demonstrates Summer Fun for the whole family.

The celebration kicks off on Thursday, August 4th at 4 p.m, when Buchanan goes retro! Vendors, games, food trucks, activities, and more, will be available until 10 p.m, and ‘The Hill’ will be open for play downtown. This highly anticipated event transforms E. Front Street into a magnificent 500 foot water slide, bringing the beach right to Buchanan. A $5 Day Pass lets you access the downtown slope for a single day, or $12 lets you ride all weekend long. B.Y.O.T. (Bring Your Own Tube) to be approved for the slide of your life!

The 1985 will be blasting 80s tunes from 8:30 p.m – 10 p.m on Thursday, showcasing a Totally 80s Experience for Neon Night, including blacklights, beverages, and glow in the dark fun. Concert tickets are $10.

Fridays festivities begin at noon, for more downtown shopping, games, and contests, and the evenings concert features P.S. Dump Your Boyfriend, ‘the Midwest’s Premiere Party Band’, from 8:30 p.m to 10 p.m. Entry fee for the concert is $10 per person, and the Adult Luau will follow the show. Enjoy the Adults-Only Midnight Slide Run, with the beer tent and dance floor awaiting you at the bottom of the slippery slope.

10 a.m on Saturday the 6th opens the Hill, and food trucks, beverages, treats, and eats will be available until 10 p.m. Local businesses and organizations are sponsoring activities and events, like ‘Snowcones For Sight’ at noon, by Smoke Vision Care, where they will be holding an eyewear collection drive. Donations will be made to the Buchanan-Galien Lions Club.

Everyone wants to be a part of Thrill On The Hill, and you’ll see vendors like The Icehouse Shave Ice from Stevensville, Nelson’s Port-A-Pit, volkswagen-smoked BBQ by Wood, Stock, & Grill, Sadler Hot Dogs, and Rapha Roast Coffee Company.

“We are hoping that Buchanan and surrounding communities will come together, as they have in the past, to make our comeback better than any of our past events,” says Ashley Regal, Executive Director of the Buchanan Area Chamber of Commerce. “There’s something for everyone to enjoy.”

Thrill On The Hill began in 2012, but was put on hold for 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. The City of Buchanan is excited to announce its return, and promises an even bigger and better Thrill than before. For more information, please visit the Thrill On The Hill facebook page. See you on the hill!
