The Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber and the Coloma/Watervliet Chamber of Commerce are joining together to mark the 50th Anniversary and a major expansion of the KOA Holiday campground near Riverside in Hagar Township, as we learn in this joint release from the two chamber groups.
As people all across the world continue to seek opportunities to disconnect from the daily grind and reconnect with the outdoors and each other, the Coloma/St. Joseph KOA Holiday proudly shares its latest renovation that created 22 new KOA deluxe patio RV sites. An official ribbon cutting will be held to celebrate their completion on Monday, May 13th at 11:00 a.m. with the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber and the Coloma/Watervliet Chamber of Commerce.
This is yet another major investment in a string of projects that owners Mark and Karla Lemoine have undertaken on the 50-year old campground since they purchased it in 2016. Over the past eight years those major projects include:
Ø 2017: Fully renovated General Store & Café;
Ø 2018: The addition of five KOA deluxe patio RV sites and renovated main restrooms;
Ø 2019: They were the first to offer Rustic-Chic glamping tents in southwest Michigan;
Ø 2021: Expansion of the deck around their in-ground heated pool;
Ø 2022: The addition of five deluxe cabins to their accommodation listing; and now
Ø 2024: Marks the addition of 22 new KOA deluxe patio RV sites increasing the number of RV sites in their park by 20%.
“Guests have frequently told us that they want to come to our campground, but they have difficulty getting in because we’re ‘always full,’” said Jennifer Burlingham, Operations Manager. “The new sites, which are now available for bookings beginning Memorial Day weekend, opens up opportunities for those individuals to join us and see the campground and the surrounding community.”
Built to meet the higher demand, these new sites are all KOA deluxe patios featuring full hook-up, 30/50 amp and feature a spacious patio area with a high-end composite picnic table, and Adirondack chairs by a custom fire pit. They will also feature:
- 17 back-in sites;
- 3 Paw Pen sites where the entire outdoor living area will be enclosed for furry family members; and
- 2 pull-thru sites providing length and convenience.
The Lemoine’s have created a strong reputation for making improvements in the park, and this investment represents the latest edition. It increased the number of RV sites in their park by twenty (20) percent, and offers guests the full hook-up convenience and other popular site features today’s customers want most.
“With each investment the Lemoine’s have made into their campground, they add an additional amenity to their offerings and in turn are able to welcome individuals, couples, and families of all sizes to southwest Michigan with open arms,” says Arthur Havlicek, President & CEO of the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber.
“We are truly blessed to have such a beautiful campground in our community with owners and a staff that love what they do and love sharing the beauty of our area with their thousands of visitors each year,” adds Chana Kniebes, Executive Director of the Coloma/Watervliet Chamber of Commerce.
