Red Arrow Highway in New Buffalo Township will remain closed to thru traffic until at least Monday.

The Berrien County Road Department says it had been hoping to allow traffic to pass through the area again starting Friday, but that hasn’t happened. It says a revised plan with crews working this weekend should result in Red Arrow Highway being reopened to one lane of traffic in each direction by end of day on Monday, May 20. However, that date and time are subject to work progression and weather.

There is a detour posted while the road department finishes up its project. The department is reconstructing Red Arrow Highway from US-12 to Community Hall Road. Although the overall project will continue through November, it has been planning to make thru traffic possible on the road for the summer.

The work also includes additional construction of the Red Arrow Linear Trail.
