This month, Sunrise Farms Event Venue in Benton Harbor is teaming up with local artist Paige Rochefort to bring a vibrant mural that embodies the venue’s mission of growing love.

Rochefort, of Daydreams By Paige, is a local artist from Michigan that values the natural world, particularly floral, is creating a mural that will be on the exterior of one of the venue’s original barns.

“I just feel like murals became such a way of people being able to brand their business and show their unique perspective and show their unique perspective. There’s so many ways you can go about it, and so I just ran with it.”

Rochefort, originally from Jackson, Michigan, has always had a passion for art. At a young age, Rochefort was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. For her, creating art is a second chance at life and made her dreams a reality.

“I’m a cancer survivor and I feel like with that I’ve just really gotten a perspective on life of like when you have a second chance, do it big and do what you can with it and the most of it and don’t let a day be wasted,” she said. “And so, I just kind of took my dreams and made them a reality one by one and I’ve loved how it’s kind of snowballed into this career. It’s mainly a passion for me.”

With her love for the outdoors and flowers combined with the Sunrise Farms Venue message, Rochefort will create a mural featuring wildflowers dancing in the wind, symbolizing the free-spirted nature of love and celebration at Sunrise Farms Venue. She believes that this mural can not only show the farm’s message but also resemblance.

“I’ve always kind of looked at the symbol of a flower as resilient, especially wildflowers. I think with them bringing people together and couples, I just love that. I think with them bringing people together and couples, I just love that. My message of what I do kind of also ties into that.”

Rochefort expects the mural to be complete by the weekend.
