A century after its founding as Coloma Co-operative Canning, Coloma Frozen Foods is celebrating 100 years of feeding America from the heart of Michigan’s fruit belt.

Founded in 1925 to support local growers, the Coloma-based company has evolved into a national supplier of premium frozen fruits, vegetables, and juice concentrates. Its Nature Blessed line, including the popular Montmorency Tart Cherry Juice Concentrate, now reaches retail, food service, and industrial markets across the country.

“Reaching 100 years is a testament to our commitment to quality, our partnerships with growers, and the dedication of our team,” said Brad Wendzel, President of Coloma Frozen Foods. “We’re proud to honor our heritage while continuing to innovate and meet the needs of our customers.”

Coloma Frozen Foods transitioned from canning to frozen processing in the 1970s and entered the retail and concentrate markets in the 1980s. In 2014, it opened a modern repack and distribution facility capable of handling 20 million pounds of product. Today, the company offers services like private labeling, co-manufacturing, blending, and repacking—all with organic and kosher certifications.

Its products serve a wide range of customers—from breweries and bakeries to grocery stores—and can be found locally at Martin’s, Harding’s, and Roger’s Foodland. Online shoppers can find products at www.colomafrozen.com and on Amazon.

To celebrate its centennial, the company is hosting an employee appreciation picnic. More information on additional events can be found on their website.

Looking forward, Coloma Frozen Foods plans to expand its offerings while staying rooted in sustainability, local sourcing, and community engagement—core values that have helped the company thrive for 100 years.
